NOW – DECEMBER 26
The St. Albans Festival of Lights is going on nightly from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. Albans City Park, 931 Observatory Drive, St. Albans.

NOW – DECEMBER 20
Two-million lights will be twinkling this year at the West Virginia State Farm Museum in Point Pleasant to celebrate the Christmas season. Santa will also be on hand to talk with the kids Thursday through Sunday each week. The display runs Dec. 5-20 from 6-9 p.m.

THROUGHOUT DECEMBER
The Buffalo United Methodist Church will be hosting an Advent Bible Study every Thursday morning at 10 a.m.

DECEMBER 9 – 10
The Macholah Ballet will be presenting The Nativity Ballet at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 1 p.m. on Dec. 10 at King’s River Ministries, 777 Mallory Lane N, St. Albans.
The Hometown Independent Mission, 25 3rd Avenue, Hometown, will be holding Walk Through Bethlehem. Times are 6 until 10 p.m. nightly. Tour a biblical-style village.
Fear on The Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, presents Photos with Krampus “The Christmas Devil” at 7 p.m. The cost is $25.

DECEMBER 9
Local Author Linda Reeder will be hosting a Meet & Greet at 10 a.m. at the Poca Library.
Creekside Church, 488 Charleys Creek Road, Culloden, will be holding Breakfast with Santa at 9 a.m. Register by calling (304) 806-2345.
ChristCom Church, 733 Rocky Step Road, Scott Depot, will be holding a Parents Night Out Christmas Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Drop children off for a night of snacks, crafts, and fun.
The Putnam Wellness Coalition will be holding their annual Christmas party at 10:30 a.m. at Area 34, 971 Route 34, Teays Valley. Wear an ugly sweater and bring party food or dessert to share. Bring two socks, one to exchange, and one for charity.
Putnam County Schools Developmental Screenings will be held on Friday, December 9, at the Teays Valley Baptist Church, Teays Valley Road. Please call 304-586-0500 ext. 1133 to schedule an appointment.
The Women of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Hurricane will be holding a Women’s Christmas Gathering at 6:30 p.m.
There will be a foam dance party for children ages 1-6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and ages 7-14 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $8 per child.

DECEMBER 10
The Charleston Lighted Boat Parade will start at 6:30 p.m. Decorated boats will leave the Elk River around 6:30 p.m. and travel up to the Capital Building before turning around and heading back to the Charleston Levee.
The St. Albans Historical Society will be holding their annual Christmas Homes Tour from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at 404 4th Avenue on the night of the event. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for students and children.
The Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department Annual Christmas Parade will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Buffalo. Parade starts at the Buffalo Town Hall.
There will be photos with Santa at the Putnam County Animal Shelter in Red House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $15.
Salt & Light Food Pantry at the Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, Winfield, will be giving out food from 9 a.m. to noon.
There will be Breakfast with the Grinch and Santa from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Conference Center at Valley Park in Hurricane. The cost is $15 per person. To register, call 681-233-1400.
Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2440 Route 60, Hurricane, will be holding a drive-thru food pantry from 9 to 11 a.m.
The Hurricane Christmas Parade will start at 4 p.m.
My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a Christmas Ornament Workshop from 3 to 6 p.m.

DECEMBER 11
The Morgan’s Kitchen Old-Time Christmas Open House will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the historic cabin located at 2600 MacCorkle Avenue, St. Albans.
Fathoms’ Pratt Realty Group office at Putnam Village in Teays Valley (next door to Rio Grande), will be holding a grand opening/open house from 4 to 7 p.m.
Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene is hosting Let’s Go! A Christmas Nativity Musical at 11 a.m.
Learn how to play the Pokémon trading card game. This free event will start at 2 p.m. at the Board Room – Hurricane, 270 Progress Way, Hurricane.
The First Baptist Church of Hurricane, located on Main Street, will be performing their Christmas cantata, “I Heard the Bells,” at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m.

DECEMBER 12
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be at the Town of Poca gazebo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
There will be a American Red Cross Blood Drive from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, Winfield.
There will be board games at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drop in whenever.

DECEMBER 13
Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, Putnam Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a Christmas Concert, “Once Upon a Silent Night,” featuring the Hurricane Civic Chorus at 7 p.m.
There will be a holiday card making workshop at 10 a.m. at the Hurricane Branch Library.

DECEMBER 14
Learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Board Room – Hurricane, 270 Progress Way, Hurricane.

DECEMBER 15
There will be an Industrial Onsite Hiring Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Area 34, 971 West Virginia Route 34, Teays Valley.

DECEMBER 16 – 17
Arts in Action will present Christmas in Who-Ville, The Ballet, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center Theater. Tickets are on sale at the box office.

DECEMBER 16
The Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society will meet at 6 p.m. at Camp Virgil Tate Dining hall, 1400 Co Rte 7/3, Charleston.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be holding Toast! at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 State Route 34, Teays Valley.

DECEMBER 17
There will be an outdoor live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. at Buffalo Church of the Nazarene. There will be hot chocolate and ornament making in the fellowship afterwards.
The Winfield Volunteer Fire Department Christmas Parade will start at 6 p.m. along Route 817. Lineup at 5 p.m. To participate, call (304) 993-7336.
