NOW – DECEMBER 26
The St. Albans Festival of Lights is going on nightly from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. Albans City Park, 931 Observatory Drive, St. Albans.
NOW – DECEMBER 20
Two-million lights will be twinkling this year at the West Virginia State Farm Museum in Point Pleasant to celebrate the Christmas season. Santa will also be on hand to talk with the kids Thursday through Sunday each week. The display runs Dec. 5-20 from 6-9 p.m.
THROUGHOUT DECEMBER
The Buffalo United Methodist Church will be hosting an Advent Bible Study every Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
DECEMBER 16 – 17
Arts in Action will present Christmas in Who-Ville, The Ballet, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center Theater. Tickets are on sale at the box office.
DECEMBER 16
The Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society will meet at 6 p.m. at Camp Virgil Tate Dining hall, 1400 Co Rte 7/3, Charleston.
Santa Claus will be touring the neighborhoods of Winfield from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Go to the Winfield Fire Department Facebook page for a complete schedule of locations.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be holding Toast! at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 State Route 34, Teays Valley.
DECEMBER 17
Santa Claus will be stopping at 34’s Last Stop Tavern, 4000 McLane Pike, Red House, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for family photos. Pets are welcome.
The Flamin-go 5K Run will start at 8 a.m. at the Nitro High School. This is a free timed race. For more information, go to runsignup.com/Race/WV/Nitro/FlamingoRun
There will be an outdoor live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. at Buffalo Church of the Nazarene. There will be hot chocolate and ornament making in the fellowship afterwards.
The Winfield Volunteer Fire Department Christmas Parade will start at 6 p.m. along Route 817. Lineup at 5 p.m. To participate, call (304) 993-7336.
The Macholah Ballet, 6422 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, will be holding a Tappin’ Around the Christmas Tree Tap Workshop from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $35 per person. Register by going to https://dancestudio-pro.com/online/themacholahballet
There will be a food pantry starting at 8:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 3653 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
There will be a benefit Breakfast with Santa at ShotFire Fitness, 1165 Midland Trail, Hurricane. Workout at 9 a.m. and breakfast at 10 a.m. Tickets are $20 per adult.

First Baptist Church of Nitro, 2200 2nd Avenue, Nitro, will be holding Breakfast With Santa at 9 a.m.
The Buffalo United Methodist Church will be hosting a Luncheon with Santa at noon.
Red House Bible Church, 51 Warner Lane, Red House, will be holding their Christmas Program starting at 10:45 a.m.
The Pulse Church, 5368 State Route 34, Winfield, will be holding a Christmas Night of Worship at 6 p.m.
ChristCom Church, 733 Rocky Step Road, Scott Depot, will be holding their Christmas Program and Candlelight Service starting at 6 p.m.
Third Sunday Board Games will be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn in Teays Valley.
DECEMBER 20
Mission West Virginia, 168 Midland Trail, Suite 1, Hurricane, will be holding a holiday open house at 7:30 a.m. Learn about Mission WV’s programs.
There will be Holly Jolly Trivia at 5 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley. Middle school age through adults.
DECEMBER 21
Santa will be touring Nitro on a fire truck from 6 to 8 p.m. He will be at the Nitro Library for a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m.
Red House Bible Church, 51 Warner Lane, Red House, will be going Christmas caroling in the surrounding area. Meet at the church at 6 p.m.
Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene will be holding “Experience Christmas” – an outdoor event with a live Nativity, horse drawn carriage rides, and seasonal treats – from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
DECEMBER 22
A workshop called Un-Deck the Halls: How to Organize the Post-Holiday Mess will be held at the Putnam County Main Library at 11 a.m.
DECEMBER 24
The Buffalo United Methodist Church will be holding a Christmas Eve service.
The First Baptist Church of Hurricane, located on Main Street, will be holding a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m.
DECEMBER 25
The Buffalo United Methodist Church will be holding a Christmas Cantata at 9:45 a.m.

Red House Bible Church, 51 Warner Lane, Red House, will be holding Christmas Day services starting at 10:45 a.m.
The First Baptist Church of Hurricane, located on Main Street, will be holding Christmas morning services at 10 a.m.
DECEMBER 31
To celebrate its 70th birthday, the Town of Bancroft will have a history open house at the Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be a New Year’s Eve glow foam dance party for children ages 7-14 from 7 to 9 p.m. and ages 1-6 from 10 a.m. to midnight at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane.
JANUARY 3
There will be a Vision Board Workshop at 3:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley and at the Hurricane Branch Library. Set yourself up for success in the new year is by visualizing your dreams about how your want your life to look.
