Community Calendar for Week of January 19

SATURDAYS THROUGH MARCH
There will be a free open gym for 1st through 5th graders from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at ZoneOut Sports, Morris Court, Hurricane.

JANUARY 20 – 22
The WV Hunting & Fishing Show 2023 will be held at the Coliseum and Convention Center in Charleston. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $9 at the door.

JANUARY 20, 27
There will be a Toddler Time craft class from 10 a.m. to noon at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $5.
Friday Crafternoon will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $5.

JANUARY 20
The Baby Love Pantry will be giving away free diapers, wipes, and formula from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, upper parking lot at the gym entrance.
Bancroft Mission, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, will be holding TODAH, an evenign of praise and thanksgiving, at 6:30 p.m.
Toast, the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly meet-up, will be held at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.

JANUARY 21
Huntington Old Time Music And Dance will be holding a dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Heritage Farm, 3300 Harvey Road, Huntington.
The West Virginia Reptile Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wilson Student Union at West Virginia State University. The cost for admission is $5.
The Needhams from Nashville, TN, will be performing at WV Home Mission Church, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro, starting at 6 p.m.
The Hurricane Walmart will be holding a store celebration from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Music, food, games, and more.
Chastity Dye will be performing at Connolly’s Irish Pub, Main Street, Hurricane, from 7 to 9 p.m.

JANUARY 23, 30
There will be photography classes at Valley Park in Hurricane from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $80 for the series. To register, call 304-562-0518.

JANUARY 24
Rachael Carrico of Van Deysen Law will be discussing estate planning at 6 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
A super scientist from Belle Chemical will be leading some fun experiments about liquid stacking (lava lamps!) and friction at 5 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
There will be a Bible Study from 9 to 10 a.m. and Yarn and Yak from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane.

JANUARY 25
Workshop Wednesday will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane.

JANUARY 26
There will be homeschool arts and crafts instruction at 2 and 3 p.m. at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane.

JANUARY 27

JANUARY 28

WV Cupcake Festival Bingo will be held at 6 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Cost is $35 at the door.
