After months of remodeling and reorganization, the Hurricane Walmart Supercenter held a celebration on Saturday, January 21, to mark the completion of the transformation project.
As part of the festivities, magician Joey Stepp made balloon animals and performed magic tricks for the children. Morgantown-based competition chef Brittany Furbee had a booth where she made tailgate macaroni and cheese and offered samples to customers. The dish featured tomatoes, green chilis, cream cheese, and bacon.
Existing Walmart+ customers or new sign-ups could spin the “Spin It to Win It” wheel, where they could win umbrellas, hats, charging bricks, mini speakers, cooler bags, or store gift cards. Walmart+ is a subscription-based grocery delivery and free shipping service.
“Our store has been serving the Hurricane community since 2008 and we’re proud to not only offer our customers a fresh new look, but a whole new shopping experience,” said Walmart Store Manager Brian Blain.
