Community Calendar for Week of February 16

MONDAYS IN FEBRUARY
A Youth Book Club meets at the Eleanor Library at 3:30 p.m. every Monday.

TUESDAYS IN FEBRUARY
Sit and Stitch – a crochet basics class – will be held during business hours every Tuesday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at the Hurricane Library.

SATURDAYS THROUGH MARCH
There will be a free open gym for 1st through 5th graders from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at ZoneOut Sports, Morris Court, Hurricane.

FEBRUARY 17
There will be a STEM workshop on line and pattern art at 2 p.m. at the Poca Library.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Toast meetup at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.

FEBRUARY 18 – 19
Connolly’s Irish Pub on Main Street, Hurricane, will be holding an inaugural comedy show from 8 to 10 p.m.

FEBRUARY 18
The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be showing the movie “Hidden Figures” at 10 a.m.
Connolly’s Irish Pub on Main Street, Hurricane, will be hosting a WV FBLA Collegiate Southern Networking Conference. Students and professors who are interested should arrive at 4:30 p.m. Professionals who are interested can participate from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

FEBRUARY 19
The Buffalo United Methodist Church, located in the Buffalo Historic Square, will have a Song & Praise Service with missionary Joyce Igo and her grandson Steven Nichols at 9:45 a.m.
Board With Life is hosting Third Sunday Board Games from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn conference room in Teays Valley.
River Cities Bully Buddies dog rescue will be holding a meet and greet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Tractor Supply in Hurricane.

FEBRUARY 21
There will be a CPR class at 5 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Learn CPR, AED, and stop blood loss. The cost is $50. To sign up, please contact Camille at 304-562-0518.

Theresa’s Haunted History of the Tri-State will be hosting a presentation at 6 p.m. at the St. Albans Historical Society, 404 4th Ave, St Albans.
There will be an internet basics class at 2 p.m. at the Hurricane Library.

FEBRUARY 24
Road Riders For Jesus Chapter #23 will be holding a no ride event – dinner, fellowship and a movie – at Nitro First Presbyterian, 111 21st Street, Nitro.
There will be an internet basics class at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
The So-Kai Kidz Clubhouse will be holding a free family night for children birth to age 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane. To preregister, go to sokaiclubhouse.com

FEBRUARY 25
Fear on the Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, will be holding an 80’s themed Zombie Prom at 8 a.m. Call 681-203-3683 to register.
The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be showing the movie “Soul” at 10 a.m.
Life Seasons Support & Counseling Services, 3465 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a 2 hour workshop for middle school girls about manging emotions from a clincal and biblical perspective from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $60; to register, call (304) 840-9300.
