Community Calendar for Week of March 2

Kanawha Trail Club will be hosting a Meek’s Mountain Hike at 1:30 p.m. at Hurricane City Park. Meet at the parking lot to the left of the entrance.
“Red, White, & Blue: An American Musical Tribute” will be featured at the last PipeSounds Organ Concert of this 2022-2023 season at 3:00 p.m. at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church in Hurricane.

Local Children’s Author Linda Weaver Hunt will be at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley at 4 p.m.
There will be a Yarn Spinners session from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.

Join Kanawha County Schools from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Anne Bailey Elementary School, 405 Winfield Road, St. Albans, as they appreciate the grandparents in their community raising their grandkids. They’ll share resources, answer questions, and help families enroll or renew their Medicaid or CHIP coverage.

There will be an Express Employment Professionals hiring event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
The Greater Charleston Solar Collaborative Party will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Belknap Dough Company, Main Street, Hurricane.

Focused Fire Training will be hosting a West Virginia Defensive Carry Course for women from 6 to 9 p.m. at Holiday Inn in Teays Valley. For more information, call (866) 382-9111.

There will be a winter cornhole tournament benefit for first responders at the Buffalo Fire Department. Doors open at 10 a.m.; games start at noon.
There will be a fundrasier spaghetti dinner for the Buffalo Show Choir at the Buffalo High School at 6 p.m. The cost is $15.

The Pulse Church, 5368 State Route 34, Winfield, will be holding a food pantry from 2 to 6 p.m.
