In 1988, The Centennial History of Hurricane, WV was published to commemorate the town’s 100th anniversary. In 1994, the Centennial Committee published a follow up book which included family histories which were not submitted in time for the 1988 Centennial History. This week’s selection is the 35th history from The Centennial History of Hurricane WV Continued — 1994.

The last five years has had its triumphs and disappointments.

My beloved wife, “Midge”, passed away January 15, 1991, after 56 years of marriage. We had a happy life together.

There has been three great-grandsons born, Joe Nathan Herndon, Seth David Herndon and Tyler Franklin Allen and a great-granddaughter, Andrea Grace Allen.

I am blessed by the love and support of my family and friends.
