Centennial History of Hurricane (1994 Edition): Woodrow W. and Eula Parsons

Woodrow and Eula were married October 14, 1936.

In 1988, The Centennial History of Hurricane, WV was published to commemorate the town’s 100th anniversary. In 1994, the Centennial Committee published a follow up book which included family histories which were not submitted in time for the 1988 Centennial History. This week’s selection is the 37th history from The Centennial History of Hurricane WV Continued — 1994.

Woodrow was born August 16, 1915 and died January 8, 1986. He was a son of Edward “Ed” and Mary Casdorph Parsons.

Eula Mae Wood Parsons was born May 24, 1916. She is a daughter of the late Rev. Walter and Lena Wood.

Woodrow was a farmer and was also employed by Union Carbide until he had to take medical retirement in the early 1970’s due to a heart condition.

Woodrow and Eula’s children are: Shirley Fay (married Burchel Edwards), Violet Deloris, Velma Marie (married Preston Sheets), Wanda Louise (married Bernard Mitchell), and Ruby Jean.
