Hurricane’s 2023 Easter Egg Drop Now History

A volunteer uses the perch of Teays Valley Fire Department’s “Big John” ladder truck to pour out Easter Eggs at the Hurricane High School football field.

The Annual Hurricane Easter Egg Drop is a big day for area youngsters. It is much more than gathering up candy-containing plastic eggs. It is a time for photos with fairy tale princesses and comic book super heroes and lots of prizes.

Saturday, March 25, was extra special for the lucky winners who took home bicycles, scooters and other valuable treasures.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Hurricane High Team Moms. Proceeds from last year’s Egg Drop were used to fund pre-game meals for the football team. The Redskin Football Team’s 10-3 record is evidence that the Moms served a winning menu.

Youngsters, ages 2 to 6, scramble to gather eggs.
