In 1988, The Centennial History of Hurricane, WV was published to commemorate the town’s 100th anniversary. In 1994, the Centennial Committee published a follow up book which included family histories which were not submitted in time for the 1988 Centennial History. This week’s selection is the 38th history from The Centennial History of Hurricane WV Continued — 1994.

Edward D. “Ed” Parsons was born January 8, 1882. He was married to Mary Ellen Casdorph, born March 24, 1894 and to this marriage were born: Herman, Flossie, Woodrow, Paul D., Fred and Howard.

“Ed’s” occupation most of his life was a farmer, however, during his early years, he traveled to different areas of the country, helping to lay pipe lines.

Mary was the daughter of Rice and America Casdorph.
