APRIL 21 – 22
Saving Vintage, 401 Midland Trail, Hurricane, will be hosting the “Birds, Blooms & Bunnies” Spring Vintage Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

APRIL 21
The Eleanor Library will be hosting an Earth Day event with an environmentalist from the WV Department of Highways at 10 a.m.
Learn about line and geometric art inspired by West Virginia artist Charly Jupiter Hamilton at 2 p.m. at the Poca Library.
Putnam Crew will be hosting Toast at Area 34, 971 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, at 8 a.m.

Putnam County Solid Waste Authority will be hosting an Earth Day Extravaganza from 2 to 5 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

APRIL 22
StinkFest 2023, a festival celebrating ramps and other local foods, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wild Ramp, 555 14th St W, Huntington.
Bags and Basket Bingo will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Buffalo High School.
The West Virginia Food Truck Festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the Eleanor Park.

The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be showing the movie “Tom and Jerry” at 10 a.m.

Community Autism Resources & Education System (CARES) will be hosting the SpectRUN 5K/10k & AU-SOME Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hurricane City Park. 5K/10K trail race at 10 a.m.; family walk at 12:30 p.m. Register by going to https://runsignup.com/Race/WV/Hurricane/CARESSpectRUN
Putnam County’s Safety Day will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Putnam County Bank lot next to the Hurricane McDonald’s. Get to know your local first responders.

APRIL 23
The Walgreens Red Nose Day Car/Bike Show will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Eleanor O’Rielly’s Parking lot. Preregister at the Eleanor Walgreens or at the event. Charity bike ride starts at non in Buffalo at the gazebo. For more information, call 304-586-9064.

The Youth Book Club meets at the Eleanor Library at 3:30 p.m.

APRIL 25
There will be a poetry open house from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley. There will be a variety of poetry styles and genres on display, as well as an open mic.
There will be a Sensory-Friendly Meet & Greet with First Responders from 6 to 8 p.m. at the new Hurricane Fire & Rescue building on Midland Trail.

APRIL 26
The Putnam County Library is celebrating National Library Outreach Day by holding a pop-up event from noon to 5 p.m. at the Winfield Community Center located at 178 Second Street.

APRIL 27 – 29
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be hosting their spring swap meet at the Winfield Riding Club.

APRIL 28 – 29
April’s closet clothing giveaway will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

APRIL 28
Community Autism Resources & Education System (CARES) will be hosting Zumbathon® from 6 to 8 p.m. at Power Up Sports and Wellness in Hurricane. Admission is a $10 donation.

APRIL 29 – 30
The WV Pumpkin Spring Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day at the Pumpkin Park in Milton. Entry is $5 at the gate. Children 10 and under are free.

The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be showing the movie “Puss in Boots” at 10 a.m.
Calvary Baptist Church, 3653 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a food pantry at 8:30 a.m.

APRIL 30
The Upper Vandalia Historical Society will meet from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bancroft Mission, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft. The topic will be the 1957 explosion at Monsanto Chemical Company in Nitro.
ChildLaw Services and Kids Run The Nation Elevation Spring 2023 Team at Mountain View Elementary will be hosting a 5K color run/walk starting at 3:30 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Registration is from 2 to 3:15 p.m. and costs $30. For more information, call (304) 425-9973.
