The Putnam County Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon/Arby’s on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

MAY 5
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be holding a cruise-in starting at 5 p.m. at the Living Memorial Park, 21st Street and 2nd Avenue, Nitro.

The PCTC Car Wash & Community Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Putnam Career & Technical Center in Eleanor.
St. John United Methodist Church, 4536 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, will be holding Taster’s Tea from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. $10 donation for adults; $5 for 5-12 year olds.

The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be celebrating Free Comic Book Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a movie showing at the Putnam County Main Library at 10 a.m.
There will be a community yard sale at the Gables of Teays Valley gated community from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Putnam County Moose #2729 will be hosting a social meet up from 7 to 11 p.m. at the VFW Mountaineer Post, 3836 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
Faith in Motion, 3495 Teays Valley Road, Ste B, Hurricane, will be holding an open house from 10 a.m. to noon. Learn about summer sports training sessions for youth athletes.
The First Church of the Nazarene, Route 60, Hurricane, will be holding a community baby shower from noon to 2 p.m.
There will be a spring craft fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wyndgate by Wyndham Hotel, 417 Hurricane Creek Road, Hurricane.
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a church-wide yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hurricane’s Main Street Spring Festival will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.

MAY 7
The Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club will host a Membership Tea and Lecture at 1:30 p.m. at the Red House in Eleanor. Among the highlights of the event, will be the attendance of Joan C. Browning, civil rights activist and celebrated author.
Hurricane High School Boys Soccer Youth Camp (ages 5-14) will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the HHS Soccer Field. Cost is $50 per child and $30 for additional siblings.

MAY 10
Allied Waste Sycamore Landfill, 3475 Sycamore Ridge Road, Hurricane, will be accepting the first 520 pounds of residential household trash for free on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 304-562-3398.

There will be a Family Movie night starting at 7 p.m. at Eva’s restaurant, 3225 Charleston Road, Poca. The movie is free of charge; bring your own blanket or chairs.

The 2nd Annual Pickin’ in the Park Bluegrass Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
There will be a Zumba Fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis at 10 a.m. at ZoneOut Sports, 100 Morris Court, Hurricane. The cost is $10 per person.
There will be a foam dance party for children ages 1-6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $10 per child.
