The Macholah Ballet explored the beauty of the forest, mountains, prairie, desert, and ocean with their nature-themed recital, “With Us In The Wilderness.” The first part of the recital featured a production inspired by “Hinds’ Feet on High Places,” an allegorical book by Hannah Hurnard. The tale, which bears similarities to Pilgrim’s Progress, follows the journey of a handicapped orphan girl who flees from her abusive family and goes on a journey to find the high places, where she dreams of being able to dance like the deer.

The second part of the recital featured over thirty dance numbers inspired by hiking and camping, and themes of the natural world which express the beauty and joy found in the Holy Bible’s books of poetry.

The first two hundred people who purchased tickets for the recital received a bundle of brochures from West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and North Carolina state parks.
