Community Calendar for Week of July 6

MONDAYS IN JUNE AND JULY
Food trucks will be coming to Hurricane’s Main Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

TUESDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 29
Community Autism Resources & Education Systems- CARES will be holding a summer meet up from 10 a.m. to noon at Valley Park in Hurricane.

FRIDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 18
Buffalo Church of the Nazarene youth group will be hosting Pickup Game Fridays at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Brisketball, flag football, frisbee, kickball, and more.

SATURDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER 28
The Putnam County Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon/Arby’s on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

JULY 6
Meeks Mountain Trails will be hosting a Wild Edibles and Medicinal Plant Walk with Becky Linger starting at 6 p.m. Meet up at the red barn at Hurricane City Park.

JULY 7 – 15

JULY 7
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be hosting a cruise-in starting at 5 p.m. at the Living Memorial Park, 21st Street and 2nd Avenue, Nitro.
There will be a ribbon cutting for Green’s Entertainment indoor putt-putt course at 10 a.m. Green’s is located in the Putnam Village shopping center in Teays Valley.
The Wildwood Players will be performing from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Hurricane VFW 9097, 3836 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
Fitness Friday: There will be a Field Day and Obstacle Course at 10 a.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

JULY 8
There will be a Bake My Day block party for Children’s Miracle Network from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Living Memorial Park, 20th Street and 2nd Avenue, Nitro.

Winfield Nazarne Church, 10822 Winfield Road, will be holding a food pantry from 9 a.m. to noon.
There will be a reptile exhibit at the big red barn at the Hurricane City Park at 11 a.m.
There will be a foam dance party for children ages 1-6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane.

JULY 9
There will be special singing at 6 p.m. at Community Tabernacle, WV Route 34, Liberty.
The Master’s Trio will be performing from 6 to 8 p.m. at West Virginia Home Mission Church, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro.

JULY 10 – 14

JULY 11 – 14
First Baptist Church of Hurricane, located on Main Street, will be holding “Stellar” Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m.

Batman and the Batmobile will be coming to the Eleanor Library at 10 a.m.
There will be a grand opening ceremony from noon to 2 p.m. for the new CAMC Teays Valley Outpatient Center, 3948 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.

JULY 12 – AUGUST 2

Allied Waste Sycamore Landfill, 3475 Sycamore Ridge Road, Hurricane, will be accepting the first 520 pounds of residential household trash for free on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 304-562-3398.
