The West Virginia Department of Education released the 2023 student assessment results for all schools on Wednesday, August 9th. The numbers have Putnam registering the highest overall percent proficiency.

The DOE reported proficiencies in Math, Reading, and Science for every county. Putnam schools were Number One in Math and Reading, and second in Science. Statewide proficiencies were Math – 35%, Reading – 44%, and Science – 28%. Putnam’s respective proficiencies were 53%, 58%, and 39%.…
