Pupcake Pageant Was Not for Dogs Alone

The West Virginia Cupcake Festival’s greatly anticipated annual Pupcake Pageant was held on Friday evening, August 25, at Valley Park in Hurricane. The competition featured several categories, and several people dressed their pets up in costume for the occasion. While most participants entered dogs, there were also cats, ferrets, goats, and even a pet dolphin (really a stuffed toy).

Winners of the Pupcake Pageant included Grand Champion Breanna Walls with Honey; First Runner Up Nicole Ketterman with Belle; Second Runner Up Tamara Fedczak with Summer; Best Costume – Nicole Ketterman with Pongo; Best Trick – Chelsea Jenkins with Beauty; Most Unique Pet – Jason Dehaven with Rocky; Most Handsom/Prettiest Dog – Kyleigh Queen with Lucille; Most Handsome/Prettiest Cat – Kelsey Lawson with Baby kitty; Queen’s Choice – Cassandra Fields with Chloe.

This will be the third year that the West Virginia Cupcake Festival has featured the Pupcake Pageant in its lineup of events.
