Community Calendar for Week of September 28

WEEKENDS IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER
Fear on the Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, will be open from 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

SATURDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER 28
The Putnam County Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon/Arby’s on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

SEPTEMBER 29 – 30
Poca Heritage Day will be held in Poca. Cruise-in on Friday evening from 5 p.m. to dusk at Poca Middle School. Saturday’s events begin with a parade at 11 a.m.
There will be a vintage market and vendor fair (Saturday only) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Saving Vintage, 401 Midland Trail, Hurricane.

SEPTEMBER 30
There will be an all horse parade starting at 10 a.m. in Buffalo.
The Winfield High School Band Invitational will start at noon at the high school.
St. John United Methodist Church, 4536 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, will be holding their annual fall festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, vendors, and food.
There will be a plant and perennial swap at 1 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library.
There will be a food pantry at 8:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 3653 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
Donate gently used items for the Children’s Home Society from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane at the Frios Popsicle Truck.
Community Church, 212 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a fall craft fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

OCTOBER 1 – 7
Sycamore Independent Missionary Baptist Church, located at 5839 Sycamore Road, Hurricane, will be holding a fall revival from October 1st through 7th at 7 p.m. nightly.

OCTOBER 1
The Milton Pumpkin Festival Grand Parade will start at 2 p.m. in Milton.
The West Virginia Pedal Pals will be holding a 21-Leach Bike Tour starting at 10 a.m. Meet up at the Poca Library.
Faith Christian Fellowship, Crystal Lane, Buffalo, will be holding a Friends and Neighbors Sunday with a Post Game Tailgate Party starting at 10 a.m.
The Trinity Aires – The Cook Family will be performing at 11 a.m. at East Nitro United Baptist Church, Corner of Elm Street and Washington Avenue, Nitro.

STARTING OCTOBER 4

OCTOBER 5 – 8
The Pumpkin Festival will be held at Pumpkin Park in Milton. Thursday and Friday gate fee is $8 and Saturday and Sunday is $10.

OCTOBER 6 – 8
Tsubasacon, West Virginia’s Anime Convention, will be held at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. For more information, go to tsubasacon.org

OCTOBER 6 – 7
Prophet Anthony Grier will be visiting Grace Life Church, 93 Joy Lane, Culloden, at 6:30 p.m. each night.

OCTOBER 7 – 8
The Country Fall Festival and Antique Engine Show will be held at the West Virginia State Farm Museum, 1458 Fairground Rd, Point Pleasant.

OCTOBER 7
The Hometown Senior Center, 40 1st Avenue N, Hometown, will be hosting Hometown Hootenanny from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Winfield Baptist Church, 12902 Winfield Road, will be holding a car show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

OCTOBER 11
Allied Waste Sycamore Landfill, 3475 Sycamore Ridge Road, Hurricane, will be accepting the first 520 pounds of residential household trash for free on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 304-562-3398.

OCTOBER 13
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be hosting their Santa Cruise-in starting at 5 p.m. at the Living Memorial Park, 21st Street and 2nd Avenue, Nitro. Bring a new unwrapped toy for registration.

OCTOBER 14
West Virginia Home Mission Church, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro, will be holding a fall harvest festival starting at 2 p.m.
The West Virginia First Responders Festival will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at the Poca Community Volunteer Fire Department.
The Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, will be hosting a food pantry from 9 a.m. to noon.

OCTOBER 17
