Community Calendar for Week of November 9

NOVEMBER – FEBRUARY
There is a free open gym for 1st through 5th graders every Saturday from to 11 a.m. at ZoneOut Sports, Morris Court, Hurricane.

NOVEMBER 9
Create a seasonal book page garland from 10 a.m. to noon at the Poca Library.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Network of Women will be holding a time management workshop at 8:15 a.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.
Learn about Valley Park’s Fairy Trail and enjoy story time with Putnam County Library volunteers. Meet at the shelter nearest to the trail entrance at the back of the park at 10 a.m.

NOVEMBER 10 – 11
Yeager Design and Interiors, 168 Great Teays Boulevard, Scott Depot, will be holding their Christmas Open House from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue, will be holding a Gospel Sing at 7 p.m.

NOVEMBER 11
There will be a community youth rally with evangelist Chance Thompson and special singing at 7 p.m. at Lone Oak Church, 1303 McLane Pike, Red House.
The Bee Ridge Bears 4H Club will meet at 10 a.m. at Wade Chapel United Methodist Church.
The Nitro Church of the Nazarene, 1400 Sattes Circle, Nitro, will be holding a holiday bazaar from noon to 6 p.m.
The Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, will be holding a food pantry from 9 a.m. to noon.
Six local artists will be offering a myriad of choices of one-of-a-kind artworks at The Garage, 3057 Mt. Vernon Road, Scott Depot, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
VFW Mountaineer Post 9097, 3836 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a Veteran’s Day celebration from 4 to 10 p.m.
Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2440 Route 60, Hurricane, will be holding a food pantry from 9 to 11 a.m.
There will be a Veterans Appreciation Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hurricane High School. Come and go at any time. For more information, call 304-562-5896.

Horseshoe Heaven Farm, 121 Banjo Lane, Scott Depot, will be holding a children’s horsemanship 101 class from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost is $75. RSVP by calling 304-421-5733.
Heartbeat of the Valley, 28 Mission Way, Scott Depot, will be hosting Holiday Tips and Soups to Sip from 3 to 6 p.m. Cooking safety tips and a free cup of soup.

NOVEMBER 16
The Bridge Church, 279 Dairy Road, Poca, will be holding a clothing closet and food pantry from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Meet the author of “Ellie comes to Town” at 10 a.m. at the Eleanor Library.

Hurricane Reformed Church will be hosting a family psalm sing at noon at Valley Park in Hurricane, shelter 1.
