Community Calendar for Week of November 23

NOVEMBER – FEBRUARY
There is a free open gym for 1st through 5th graders every Saturday from to 11 a.m. at ZoneOut Sports, Morris Court, Hurricane.

NOVEMBER 23
The Bancroft Thanksgiving Parade will go through the neighborhoods of Bancroft starting at 11 a.m.
There will be a Wobble Before You Gobble Zumba class at 8 a.m. at Power Up Sports and Wellness, 87 Comemrce Drive, Hurricane. Bring a canned food donation.

NOVEMBER 24
Jim Harrison & Company will be performing at 6 p.m. at Fireside Grill in Teays Valley.
There will be a Wobble After You Gobble Zumba class at 9:15 a.m. at Power Up Sports and Wellness, 87 Comemrce Drive, Hurricane.

NOVEMBER 25
Poca High School Show Choir presents Breakfast in Whoville from 8 a.m. to noon at Rock Branch Elementary. To purchase tickets, go to https://phsshowchoir.ticketspice.com/breakfast-in-whoville
Shop Small Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Area 34, 971 Route 34, Teays Valley. Many local businesses and vendors will have booths.
There will be a Yuletide in the Park Vendor event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
Zoology Zone Science Center, located at Valley Park in Hurricane, will be showing the movie “Elf” at 6:30 p.m.
Social Event Space, 2833 Main Street, Hurricane, will be holding Shop Small Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

NOVEMBER 26
Rodney Barbour will be performing at 3:00 p.m. at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, Putnam Avenue, Hurricane, for their annual Christmas Organ Concert on the Harrah Symphonic Organ.

NOVEMBER 29
Create a snow globe at the Eleanor Library during business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Honorable Order of the Blue Goose will be making care bags for the homeless at 4 p.m. at Social Event Space, 2833 Main Street, Hurricane.

DECEMBER 1 – 2
The Macholah Ballet will be performing “The Nativity” at 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday at King’s River Ministries, 777 Mallory Lane, St. Albans.
Word of Light Church will be hosting a live nativity from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
DECEMBER 1
The Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Business Before Business meet up at 7:30 p.m. at Sleep Inn & MainStay Suites, 1211 Liberty Park Drive, Teays Valley.
Yuletide in the Park will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Live Nativity, pet parade, tree lighting, sweater contest, Santa, and more.

DECEMBER 2 – 3
There will be a Christmas Pop Up Vendor Event from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days at 1267 Rentals, 17588 Charleston Road, Buffalo.

DECEMBER 2
The St. Albans Lighted Boat Parade will begin at 7 p.m. Boats can be seen from St. Albans Riverfront Park.
The Nitro Christmas Parade Holiday Market will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at 2602 1st Avenue S, Nitro.
The Nitro Christmas parade will start at 6 p.m. at the Nitro City Park.
The Bridge Church, 279 Dairy Road, Poca, will be holding their second annual craft and vendor show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The West Teays Elementary Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane.
Mountain Artist Democracy will be hosting a toy drive for NECCO from 5 to 9 p.m. at Barnyard BBQ, 1101 Hospital Drive, Hurricane. Live music by Relative Obscurity and 5 Star Rebellion.
There will be a crush run 10 miler course preview and training run starting at 8 a.m. at Meeks Mountain Trails, Hurricane City Park. Meet at the big red barn.

DECEMBER 3
Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3937 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be hosting Pancakes and Pajamas from 10:45 a.m. to noon. Pancake breakfast, decorate a gingerbread house, homemade ornaments, and more.

DECEMBER 5
A book club will be meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Winfield Community Center, 178 Second Street.
