Community Calendar for Week of February 15

There is a free open gym for 1st through 5th graders every Saturday from to 11 a.m. at ZoneOut Sports, Morris Court, Hurricane.

The Bridge Church, 279 Dairy Road, Poca, will be holding a free clothing, hot meal, and food pantry event from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Network of Women will be holding a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Hurricane.
There will be an AEP hiring event from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Appalachian Power, 1 AEP Way, Hurricane.

Bancroft Mission, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, will be holding an evening of praise starting at 7 p.m.

The Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, 25053 Buffalo Road, will be having a Poor Man’s Meal Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Tri-State Film Club will meet at 10 a.m. at Teays Valley Church of God in Scott Depot.
Game Grove, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center in Teays Valley, will be celebrating their first year anniversary all day (noon to 11 p.m.)
Little Victories Animal Rescue is holding a Cram the Van Supply Drive at Tractor Supply in Hurricane from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
There will be a Mardi Gras party starting at 8 p.m. at the VFW Canteen, 3836 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane. The event includes a costume contest.

There will be a 4 mile hike at the Eleanor Park at 1:30 p.m. Meet in the parking lot by the swimming pool.

STEMuary: Learn how to make paper airplanes at 11 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
Healing Paws Veterinary Center, 26 E Main Street, Hurricane, will be holding an opening day celebration from 4 to 7 p.m.

There will be a fundraiser for Itty Bitty Therapy Horses at Applebees in Teays Valley. Options include Three-Cheese Chicken Penne, Fiesta Lime Chicken, Classic Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken Tenders Platter, and Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad.
Heritage Company, 207 Midland Trail, Hurricane, will be hosting a ribbon cutting and grand opening at 10:45 a.m.

There will be a shoe drive fundraiser at Valley Park in Hurricane. Collection bins will be available on Mondays & Wednesdays 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM at Valley Park Conference center by the Wave Pool entrance.

The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wingate by Wyndham, 417 Hurricane Creek Road, Hurricane.

FEBRUARY 23 – 24
There will be a revival at the Bridge Church, 279 Dairy Road, Poca. Hours are 6:30 p.m. nightly and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday morning.

The 2024 Winter Blues Farmers Market will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.

The women’s ministry of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane, will be making prayer boards from 6 to 8 p.m.
