Community Calendar for Week of April 11

APRIL 11
The Putnam Chamber Network of Women will be hosting Trivia Night starting at 6 p.m. at The 1267 in Buffalo. The cost is $15 to play; bring an appetizer.
Meet county, state, and national candidates running for local offices in the May primary from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the John Henson Senior Center, 2800 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane.

APRIL 12
Putnam County Schools Developmental Screenings will be held at the Teays Valley Baptist Church on Teays Valley Road. Please call 304-586-0500 ext. 1133 to schedule an appointment.
There will be a foam dance party for ages 7-14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a meet-up from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at The Court Nutrition and Energy, 200 Morris Ct., Hurricane.
Social Event Space, 2833 Main Street, Hurricane, will be holding a Market Series from 6 to 9 p.m. Local crafts, food, and business vendors. Live music by Holly Sam Eplin.

APRIL 13
The 10th Annual Take A Walk On The Wild Side Wildflower Hike will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Albans City Park.
HoneyBee Hills, 2780 Fisher Ridge Road, Liberty, will be holding a spring open house from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come check out this wedding venue.
The Buffalo High School Music Boosters will be holding a Bingo fundraiser starting at 5 p.m.

Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a spring craft show and classic car cruise in from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene will be holding a shoe drive fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donate gently worn, used, and new shoes.
The Hurricane Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star will be hosting a walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association starting at 10 a.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. For more information, call 304-964-5204.
The 2024 Hurricane Independence Day Pageants will be held at Valley Park in Hurricane. Children’s Pageant begins at 10 a.m.; Pre-teen-Mrs. Pageant begins at 5:30 p.m. Doors open an hour before each pageant.

There will be a ribbon cutting for Highley Blessed Realty, 3925 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, at 12:30 p.m.

APRIL 15
Learn what, where, and how to recycle in Putnam County at 6 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.

APRIL 17
Meet county, state, and national candidates running for local offices in the May primary from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Buffalo Senior Center, 48 Wright’s Lane, Buffalo.
Learn about planting, harvesting and cooking herbs at 11 a.m. at the Eleanor Library.
There will be a ribbon cutting and open house from 3 to 7 p.m. at All Aboard Therapy, Inc., 6979 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot.

APRIL 18
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane.
The Federated Republican Women of the Valley and the Putnam County Republican Club are hosting a “Meet the Candidates” from 6-9 p.m. at Valley Park, 1 Valley Dr, Hurricane.

APRIL 19
Bancroft Misson, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, will be holding an evening of praise and thanksgiving starting at 7 p.m.
The Jungle Club Resort and Cafe, 11624 Winfield Road, Unit 4, Winfield, will be holding a clothing swap Friday for maternity clothing and children’s clothing and shoes from noon to 8 p.m.
The Putnam County Earth Day Extravaganza will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

APRIL 20
There will be a bingo fundraiser for Lee’s Studio of Dance from 4 to 6 p.m. at Valley Cakes and Cafe, 2883A Charleston Road, Poca.
Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club invites all members and associates to their monthly meeting, which will be held at noon at the Eleanor Fire Station, 600 Roosevelt Blvd., Eleanor. RSVP by calling (304) 543-2115.
There will be a multi-family yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mountain State Christian School, 1948 Martin Lane, Culloden.
Cooking with Kathy and Perennial Swap starts at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
