The West Virginia Food Truck Festival came to the Eleanor fairgrounds this past Saturday, April 27. The event, which is in its sixth year, featured seventeen food trucks as well as three artisan vendors. Each year, proceeds from the festival go to a local charity or community organization. This year, Friends of the Putnam County Library was chosen as the non-profit which would benefit from the fundraiser.

The library has had a presence at previous festivals, giving away freebies and informational brochures, as well as providing fun activities for children. This year, the library had an area set up for yard games and hula hooping.

“We were honored when the festival chose the Friends of the Library as this year’s non-profit recipient,” said Meghan Tarbett, Director of the Putnam County Library.

The library also hosted a raffle for a curated gift basket containing Putnam memorabilia and gift cards for local businesses. The basket had a total value of $405.

In addition to a wide variety of food trucks from which to choose, the festival also featured live entertainment by Kheghan McLane, RiverJam Band, Spurgie Hankins, and Evie Shaffer.

“We are thrilled to be able to host the sixth annual West Virginia Food Truck Festival and bring food trucks from all around the state to Putnam County,” said Ashley Alford Glance, President of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. “It is exciting to be able to provide such a delicious festival to Putnam County residents and beyond.”

Alford also expressed gratitude to both the Town of Eleanor as well as the Putnam County Fair for allowing them to host the event at the fairgrounds.

Food trucks at the event included Wicked Cool Shaved Ice & Lemonade, Pour Man’s BBQ and Potatoes, O’Goodness Mini Donuts, Carol’s Soul 2 Soul, Phat Llama, Farmhouse Fixins, A Family Affair, Mo Betta BBQ, Crafts of the Coal, The Rolling Stoves, Kona Ice, Twisted Sisterz, Gritt’s Farm, Mohawk Cheesecake, Lobster TrappN, Wild and Wonderful BBQ, and Frios.
