Night Market Opens at Valley Park

Track 9, a nine-piece horn band, were the featured performers during the May Night Market.

The first Night Market of the season was held last Thursday, May 16, at Valley Park in Hurricane. Held once a month throughout the summer, the Night Market features a unique theme, live entertainment, fun activities, local vendors, and food trucks.

The May Night Market was sponsored by Planet Fitness in Liberty Square and had a family theme, with yard games for children, balloon art by Guy Rentals, and face painting by Alto Designs. Music was provided by Track 9, a nine-piece horn band based in the Parkersburg/Marietta area. Over 40 vendors were set up for the event.

The next Night Market will be held on June 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. In honor of the state’s 161st anniversary, the market will feature a West Virginia theme.

The July Night Market will be set in the 1950’s, and the August market will travel further back in time to the wild, wild West. With autumn comes school sports and spooky season, so the September market will revolve around football, and the final market of the year will feature a Halloween theme.
