Hurricane City Park Now Home to Food Truck Friday

Diners check out what Food Truck Friday has to offer.

Hurricane’s first Food Truck Friday of the season was held last week at City Park. In previous years, Food Truck Fridays were held beside the gazebo on Main Street, but the weekly summer event has a new location this year. The featured food trucks for last Friday’s event were Twisted Grille and Kona Ice. Putnam County Library, the sponsor for the event, had a booth set up to promote their summer reading activities.

Food Truck Fridays were originally intended to bring visitors to Main Street, where they might visit the various gift shops located in that area. With three thriving restaurants now operating on Main Street, there is a greater need for parking, and so it was decided that the food truck event should be relocated. With Food Truck Fridays being held at City Park, visitors can enjoy the attractions which the park offers, such as the playground, walking trail, Caboose Museum, Sprayground, and Meeks Mountain Trails.

The next Food Truck Friday will be held on June 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will feature Saved by Grace BBQ, The Viper Wood Fired Pizza, and Almost Heaven Lemonade.
