Emilee Legg – Grand Champion Steer

The 2024 Putnam County Fair 4-H Livestock held at the fairgrounds in Eleanor on Friday, July 19, produced more than $475,000 in sales. The amount is the second highest ever for the annual event.

More than one hundred businesses, organizations, and individuals purchased eggs, rabbits, lambs, goats, heifers, feeder calves, and steers at the auction.

The top three buyers were Putnam County Bank, Window World, and Dutch Miller Auto. The highest single bid was $13,309.50 by Window World for Emilee Legg’s Grand Champion Market Steer. The top Market Hog was purchased by Piggly Wiggly. The price of eggs was high with one dozen going for a record $3,000.00. The Grand Champion Meat Goat bid was $3,087.50. The highest Market Lamb bid was $1,853.00. The highest bid for Heifers was $8,218.00. The most expensive Feeder Steer cost $11,000.00. Market Rabbits sold for as high as $3,000.00.
