The Putnam County Fair 5th Annual Derek Casto Memorial Horse Show was held on Saturday, August 3, at the Winfield Riding Club. The show, which is a fundraiser for the Derek Casto Memorial Scholarship Fund for the 4-H and FFA, featured forty different classes, including novelty classes such as stick horse, costume class, and baby bottle race.

The show was open to all ages, from children to adults, and attracted riders from Putnam County and beyond. This year’s judge was Hannah Cyrus of Florida, a professional equestrian with degrees in Equine Nutrition and Rehabilitation who was a member of the 2018-2019 Florida State 4-H horse judging team.

Show organizer Samaria Cobb expressed gratitude to the Winfield Riding Club for allowing the show to be held at the facility.

Mariah Casto of Red House with Panama Jack won first place in the costume class.
