Community Calendar for Week of September 12

NOW – OCTOBER

  • The Putnam County Farmers Market will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field next to Exxon on Route 34, Teays Valley.
  • The Country Roads Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER

  • Bringing Back the Village – Free seminars for seniors and their caregivers will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.

SEPTEMBER 12

  • Heartbeat of the Valley, 28 Mission Way, Suite 100, Scott Depot, will be holding a meeting for expectant mothers and mothers of babies under two from 11:20 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Calm Unity Integrative, 3761 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Learn about this holistic wellness center.
  • Pack 236 will be holding a Cub Scout recruiting night at 6:30 p.m. at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church, 2848 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane.

  • The Winfield Baptist Church, 12948 Winfield Road, will be holding a yard sale on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Friends of Old Time Music and Dance (FOOTMAD) will be hosting a community dance from 7 to 10 p.m. at Kanawha United Presbyterian Church, 1009 Virginia Street E, Charleston.

  • The Bancroft Town Clean Up will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Bancroft Park.
  • The Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club will be holding a bean dinner from noon to 3 p.m. at the Eleanor Fire Department, Room B.

  • Buffalo United Methodist Church, located at 27 High St., Buffalo, will be having a Song & Praise Service beginning at 9:15am featuring The Generations Quartet.
  • Open Door Bible Church, 6711 State Route 34 S, Culloden, will be holding a homecoming and revival starting at 11 a.m.
  • The reunion for the descendants of Calvery and Lucretia Gibson will start at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church on Hurricane Creek Road.

  • Red House Baptist Church, 51 Warner Lane, Red House, will be holding a tent revival at 6 p.m. nightly.

  • Valley Park in Hurricane will be hosting a night market from 6 to 9 p.m. This month’s theme will be Fall Football Night.
