Hurricane 100K Winners Split $10,000

Alex Minor of Huntington was first place male with a time of 8:45:58.

The 3rd annual Hurricane Hundred K Race on Saturday, September 7th, brought ruuners from Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and far and near in West Virginia to Meeks Mountain Trails in Hurricane. The top three male and female finishes split $10,000 in prize money with 1st place receiving $2,500; 2nd place, $1,500; and 3rd place, $1,000.

Alex Minor of Huntington was first place male with a time of 8:45:58 and Sawyer Magnett of Prescott, Arizona, was first place female with a time of 9:55:51.

The 62-mile race consisted of running six 10.3-mile laps on the Meeks Mountain Trails. Relay three-person teams had each member complete two laps.

All runners received a zip up sweatshirt jacket, finisher’s award, and a tote with swag from sponsors. All 100k solo finishers, within the 18-hour time limit, received a Hurricane 100k belt buckle. The relay team winner received hand-crafted awards.
