The City of Hurricane hosted three ribbon cutting ceremonies this week. On Monday, September 30th, the city officials gathered at the shopping plaza beside the Hurricane Walmart Category to cut the ribbon for Five Jiu-Jitsu. The gym has been in operation for several years outside of city limits. The new location allows Five Jiu-Jitsu to reach out to a larger customer base at a convenient location.
On Wednesday, the City hosted a ribbon cutting at Sonney Skies Boutique at 2741 Main Street. The boutique offers clothing for women from size small through 3X in boho, chic and western styles. Online shopping is also available at sonneyskiesboutique.com
On Thursday, October 3rd, city officials were at Gresham Plumbing Supply Company at 1195 US Route 60 in Hurricane for both the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration. Gresham Plumbing’s celebration featured food, drinks and gifts. The Hurricane location will be the company’s third. Other locations are in Charleston and Beckley.
In addition to the ribbon cuttings, city officials participated in a bridge dedication ceremony with family members of the late Kenneth Lucas on Tuesday, October 1, at the newly-named U.S. Army Sgt. Kenneth R. Lucas Memorial Bridge over Hurricane Creek on Route 60 in Hurricane.
