The City of Hurricane has sponsored two hours of free open gym time at ZoneOut Sports in Hurricane from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. each and every Saturday in November, December, January and February for the last three years. The free open gym which began in November was scheduled to come to an end on February 22nd. The end has yet to come.
On Saturday, Mayor Scott Edwards announced that FREE open gym for elementary aged kids in Hurricane will continue until the end of March.
Edwards posted photos of youngsters in action at the gym and stated that the pics showed exactly why the city makes the investment in paying for free open gym time. “I love seeing kids show up of all skill sets. Good, decent, first time. It really doesn’t matter as each and every one of them had their ‘first time’ at some point,” Edwards said.
The Mayor thanked all the dads that organize pickup teams, instruct, referee, work on skills with everyone that shows up in his post.
