Elementary School Math Field Day Winners Announced

Putnam County Schools hosted Elementary Math Field Day at Poca High School on Tuesday, February 18. School teams of three students in grades 4 and 5 competed for top math honors and a chance to advance to Regional Math Field Day.

Students competed in four areas of mathematics: mental math, estimation computation, physical estimation, and a written (math) exam. We are excited to honor and celebrate all our 2025 student participants and Elementary Math Field Day Champions!

Students advancing to Regional Math Field Day in 4th Grade competition are 1st Place: Mason Brown – Winfield Elementary; 2nd Place: Aiden Rainey – West Teays Elementary; 3rd Place: Ibrahim Alzoubi – West Teays Elementary. 4th Grade Alternate is Yohei Okuda – Eastbrook Elementary.

Students advancing to Regional Math Field Day in 5th Grade competition are 1st Place: Branson Hoang – West Teays Elementary; 2nd Place: Abram Carner – Calvary Baptist School; 3rd Place: Koiro Kachikawa – Hurricane Town Elementary. 5th Grade Alternate is Daxton Spry – Winfield Elementary.

Physical Estimation Winner was Graham Massey of Eastbrook Elementary.

School Team winners were 1st Place – West Teays Elementary; 2nd Place – Winfield Elementary; 3rd Place – Scott Teays Elementary.

Event Coordinators were Jill Burgess and Zach Sallade.
