Tim Hanna Loses Interim Title

Tim Hanna has been executing the duties of County Manager on an interim basis ever since Jeremy Young resigned as Putnam County Manager to take the County Manager’s position in Kanawha County in October of last year.

At the March 25, 2025, Putnam County Commission meeting, county commission president Andy Skidmore announced that “interim” was no longer an appropriate term for Hanna. Tim Hanna is now Putnam’s County Manager.

Hanna has been an employee of the Putnam County Commission since 2017 when he hired as Project Coordinator for writing grants and managing grant related projects. In 2022, he was promoted to Assistant County Manager.

Hanna is a lifelong Putnam County resident and a 1998 graduate of Poca High School. He earned a BA from Marshall University in 2003. Prior to working for the Putnam County Commission, Hanna worked for the WV Division of Justice and Community Services where he managed statewide grant programs. He then went on to work for the WV Supreme Court of Appeals where he worked to develop and train new Adult and Juvenile Drug Courts for the Division of Probation Services.

Hanna is married to Brooke Hanna. The couple have two daughters, Scarlett Hanna (16) and Lily Hanna (14), who attend Hurricane High School.
