The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce proudly recognized two outstanding community leaders at its recent annual celebration, honoring individuals whose leadership, service, and dedication continue to strengthen Putnam County as a place to live, work, and do business.
The Chamber presented the prestigious 2026 Mayo Lester Community Service Award to Judie Sydenstricker, owner of Fireside Grille, as the family-owned restaurant celebrates 15 years in business this year. Named after founding Chamber member and first Chairman Mayo Lester, this award honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional service to Putnam County. Prior to owning Fireside Grille, Judie dedicated years to supporting the community through her work in the banking industry. She is a past board member of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce and has served numerous local organizations such as the Putnam County Library. Through Fireside Grille, she has helped host and support many of Putnam County’s most meaningful milestones and charitable efforts, generously giving her time and resources to those in need.
The 2026 Putnam CREW Young Leader Award was presented to James Vanoy, a behind-the-scenes leader whose impact is felt across multiple businesses in Putnam County, including Meeks Rentals & Leasing, JOOT LLC, Pooch Resort, and more. As COO of Meeks Rentals & Leasing, James plays an integral role in business development in Putnam County. Though he prefers to stay out of the spotlight, James’ leadership by example and dedication to strengthening the local business climate embody the mission of Putnam CREW and the spirit of the Young Leader Award.
“These award recipients represent the very best of Putnam County,” said Ashley Alford Glance, President of the Putnam Chamber. “Their commitment to service, leadership, and community impact reflects the values that make our county strong.”
