LEWIS DAY
Lewis “Buck” Benson Day, 40, of Hurricane, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026 following a long and courageously fought illness. Buck spent much of his life working alongside his family dedicating his time, work ethic, and hard labor to help run the family business. To know Buck was a to know a man who lived for others. He was the definition of noble: If anyone was ever in need, Buck was the first to answer the call, showing up with a willing spirit, a strong back and a genuinely good heart. When he wasn’t helping others or working, he could often be found focusing on his passion for strength training, whipping up a meal in the kitchen of relaxing watching his favorite show shameless.
Above all else Buck’s absolute favorite place to be, simply surrounded by his family. Buck is preceded in death by his beloved son, Gunner Day, with whom he is now peacefully reunited with. His memory and legacy of kindness will be forever cherished by his loving parents, Ben and Shirley Day, his sisters, Mary Underwood of Tennessee and Wendi Day of WV. Nieces Kyleigh Day and Emile Jobe of WV. As well as the extended family and friends who will miss his protective presence and giant heart every day.
