Numbers 14:11-24
“And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will . . .” (v. 11). The Lord’s questions were expressions of His anger, not questions which demanded answers. God was provoked. God’s anger was sparked because the children of Israel sought to rebel against Moses and sought to return to the land of Egypt. The twelve spies had just returned from the land of Canaan with their report. The land was filled with abundance and . . . . giants. The children of Israel wanted to return to slavery in Egypt because there were giants in the land.
