JULY 3
- There will be a pop-up market from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell’s Grove Park, located on Route 62 in Hometown.
JULY 4
- The 13th Annual Buffalo July 4th 5K Run/Walk will start at 7 a.m. at the Town Hall. Entry is $15 per person. For more information or to register, call 304-546-0763.
- The Buffalo Welcome Center in the Buffalo Historic Square will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At noon, the Buffalo Methodist Trumpet Quartet will be playing the National Anthem and other selections at the Buffalo Academy.
- The Buffalo 4th of July Car Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Buffalo High School.
- The Buffalo Fourth of July Parade starts at 1 p.m.
- John’s Cyclery will be hosting a 4th of July Road Ride starting at 8 a.m. at River Ridge Church, 1 Saturn Way, Hurricane. The ride will be 22 miles long.
- The Hurricane Independence Day Celebration starts with a parade at 3 p.m., and there will be activities at Hurricane Bridge Park from 4 to 10 p.m.
- Rewind the Walkman will be performing at the Hurricane July 4th Celebration at 8:15 p.m. at Bridge Park.
JULY 6 – 8
- Faith & Family Church Mission: Deep Sea Vacation Bible School will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Winfield Community Center, 178 Second Street, Winfield.

- The Nitro Women’s Club will be holding a blessing box bingo event from 6 to 8 p.m. at the clubhouse, located at 2205 2nd Avenue and 23rd Street, Nitro. Bring non-perishable food items and receive bingo cards in return.

- Learn traditional Appalachian hoedown dancing at 10 a.m. at the Winfield Riding Club.
JULY 11
- There will be a watermelon crush fundraiser at 3 p.m. at Code 3 Health and Fitness, 236 Airgas Lane, Poca. The entry fee is $5 and proceeds go towards women’s heart health and the American Heart Association.
- The Ty Strong Car Show to support Ty Laughery and his family will be held form noon to 5 p.m. at the Winfield Baptist Church. There is a $10 entry fee for cars and motorcycles.
- There will be bingo at Valley Park in Hurricane. Doors open at 4 p.m.; games start at 5:30 p.m.
- The wood chipper will be at the Putnam County Recycling Drop Site on Midland Trail, Hurricane, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
JULY 12
- There will be a monthly bike ride at 2 p.m. at the Ridenour Lake at Nitro. Meet up at the trailhead beside the Dynamite Bike Skills Park pump track.
- Dave Edwards, candidate for Putnam County Commission, will be holding a campaign kick-off event from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Bancroft Town Park, 78 Jefferson Street, Bancroft.
