The sack race produced lots of flops but only one winner.
Hurricane’s annual Harvest Festival more than lived up to its family fun billing. Fun of Saturday, September 20, at Hurricane City Park included giveaways, face painting, pumpkin pie eating contests, inflatables, petting zoo, games, and Bluegrass music by Southridge. The event also featured a large number of vendors.
The Truist Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest produced a 12-17 year-old winner and an 18 and older winner. The winners were James Peyton of South Charleston (Youth division) and Antonio Black of St. Albans (Adult division). Both received $100 Walmart gift cards.
Sack race winners were Cindi Snead of Hurricane – Teen winner and Shyanne Snead of Hurricane – Kids division. The two girls are sisters and received a cash prize.
