Fire Wood Sale Benefits Hurricane’s Christmas Blessings Program

The sale of fire wood produced $1,370 for the Christmas Blessings program.

The City of Hurricane Street Department produces firewood from a variety of sources including trees that fall upon city rights of way during storms and from clearing operations on city-owned property.

Bundles of White Oak, Black Oak, Red Oak and Hickory were sold last week for $100 each (limit 2 per household). Each bundle was approximately 3/4 pickup truck load. The bundle containers are repurposed carrying containers used to ship chemicals to the city’s sewer plant.

Pickup was Saturday at 9 am at the bottom of water tank hill (just past Hurricane Middle School).
The Christmas Blessings program served over 500 in need last year.
