Putnam County Bank Breaks Ground for New Branch at Winfield Location

Local officials, representatives from the Putnam County Bank, and members of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce break ground at the site of the bank’s newest branch in Winfield.

Community leaders, elected officials, members of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, and guests gathered on Thursday, July 9, to celebrate the groundbreaking of Putnam County Bank’s newest branch at 25 Summers Street in Winfield, marking another significant investment in the future of Putnam County.

Summers Street is a new road which will be built on the river side of Route 817. It is named for the Summers family, who owned the property where the bank will be built. A convenience store is also planned for the property as well.

The ceremony recognized Putnam County Bank’s continued commitment to serving local families and businesses after more than 125 years of community banking.

“Putnam County Bank has been such an integral part of the county for 125 years, and seeing them chose to expand within the county is so exciting,” said Andy Skidmore, Putnam County Commissioner. “They are not only a bank but truly a partner in our community.”

“Putnam County Bank has been a trusted partner in the growth and success of our county for generations,” said Ashley Alford Glance, President of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. “This investment reflects their continued confidence in our community and ensures that residents and businesses in Winfield will have even more convenient access to the financial services they depend on.”

Local officials welcomed the project, noting the positive impact the new branch will have on residents and the community’s continued growth.

The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce also recognized AB Contracting, the local land developer whose vision and partnership helped make the project possible, emphasizing that successful economic development is achieved through collaboration between businesses, developers, local government, and community organizations.

The new Winfield location will provide expanded access to Putnam County Bank’s full range of personal and business banking services while strengthening its long-standing commitment to personalized, local service. The building will closely resemble the new Putnam County Bank location on Teays Valley Road, with two loan offices, three drive through lanes, an ATM and night drop.

Founded more than 125 years ago, Putnam County Bank has remained dedicated to investing in the communities it serves, supporting local businesses, nonprofits, schools, and organizations throughout Putnam County and the surrounding region.
