Community Calendar for Week of July 20

MONDAYS IN JULY
Food trucks will be coming to Hurricane’s Main Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

TUESDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 29
Community Autism Resources & Education Systems- CARES will be holding a summer meet up from 10 a.m. to noon at Valley Park in Hurricane.

FRIDAYSTHROUGH AUGUST 18
Buffalo Church of the Nazarene youth group will be hosting Pickup Game Fridays at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Brisketball, flag football, frisbee, kickball, and more.

SATURDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER 28
The Putnam County Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon/Arby’s on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

NOW – JULY 21
The Pulse Church, Route 34, Winfield, will be holding Keepers of the Kingdom VBS from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly.

JULY 20
Children can learn about trout and other fish at 11 a.m. at the Eleanor Library.
There will be a pop-up community Narcan training and distribution from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Health Department in Winfield.
Putnam Aging will be hosting the Putnam County Senior Games from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hurricane City park. For more information and to register, call 304-755-2385.
Valley Park in Hurricane will be hosting Night Market starting at 6 p.m. The theme for this month’s event will be for children.
Art Loft of Hurricane, 76 Midland Trail, will be holding a porch decor painting workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $40.

JULY 21 – 23
Bethel Baptist Church will be holding a tent revival at Valley Park in Hurricane. Friday services start at 6 p.m.; Saturday services start at 4 p.m.; and there will be a 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. service on Sunday.

JULY 21
Fitness Friday: There will be a meditation and breathing class at 10 a.m. at the Buffalo picnic shelter beside the Senior Center.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their monthly networking meet-up at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.
There will be Art in the Park for children ages 2 through 5th grade at 10 a.m. at Hurricane City Park. For more information and to register, go to www.sokaiclubhouse.com

JULY 22
There will be a motorcycle ride from the Cross Lanes Walmart to Hawks Nest. Meet up at 10 a.m.
The White Family Reunion will be held at noon at the Hometown Senior Center, 40 1st Avenue N, Hometown.
Community Autism Resources and Education Systems will be hosting an inclusive swim from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Camp Appalachia in Scott Depot. For more information, call (304) 935-0410.

Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene will be holding Created Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

JULY 23
The Poplar Fork Independent Church of God, located in Scott Depot, will be holding their homecoming starting at 11 a.m.
The Call Family and Friends Reunion/Get Together will be held at 5 p.m. at The Sugar Shed, 2291 Sugar Camp Road, Winfield.

Loan Oak Church of God Mission, 1303 Mclane Pike, Red House, will be holding Twists & Turns Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m.
West Virginia Home Mission Church, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro, will be holding “Building on God’s Foundation” Vacation Bible School from 5 to 8 p.m. nightly.

There will be a K-9 Demonstration from City of Hurricane at City Park at 10 a.m.

JUNE 26 – 30
Blast off: Discovering God’s Amazing Wonder VBS for ages 3-5th grade will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Red House Baptist Church on 51 Warner Lane, Red House.
