TUESDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 29
Community Autism Resources & Education Systems- CARES will be holding a summer meet up from 10 a.m. to noon at Valley Park in Hurricane.

FRIDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 18
Buffalo Church of the Nazarene youth group will be hosting Pickup Game Fridays at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Brisketball, flag football, frisbee, kickball, and more.

SATURDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER 28
The Putnam County Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon/Arby’s on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

Shiloah Independent Church, 117 Shilo Road, Red House, will be holding Jesus to the Rescue Vacation Bible School from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. nightly.
West Virginia Home Mission Church, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro, will be holding a revival from 7 to 9 p.m. nightly.

AUGUST 10
The Putnam Aging Senior Picnic will be held at Valley Park in Hurricane from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

AUGUST 11
The Baby Love Pantry at Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, 5320 Frontier Drive, will distribute free diapers and wipes, as well as formula when available, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Bring ID and proof of child’s existence.
There will be Art in the Park for children ages 2 through 5th grade at 10 a.m. at Hurricane City Park. For more information and to register, go to www.sokaiclubhouse.com
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue, will be holding their Monthly, Second-Friday, Gospel Sing starting at 7 p.m.
There will be a ribbon cutting at noon for the new Alex R. White, PLLC, law office located at 2813 Main Street, Hurricane.

AUGUST 12 – 13

Nitro First Presbyterian, 111 21st Street, Nitro, will be holding a rummage and hot dog sale from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, will be holding a food pantry from 9 a.m. to noon.
Cricket Wireless in Scott Depot will be giving away school supplies for children from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be a summer gardening workshop at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library.
The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be showing the movie “Toy Story 2” at 10 a.m.
There will be a foam dance party for children ages 1-6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $10 per child.
Hurricane’s City Wide Yard Sale will be held throughout the morning and early afternoon. A list of sales will be published on August 9 on the City’s Facebook page.

The First Baptist Church of Nitro, 2200 2nd Avenue, Nitro, will be holding a back to school bash starting at 5 p.m.

AUGUST 14
Kelle Boggs Dance Studio, 14 Fourth Valley Street, Winfield, will be holding an open house and fall registration from 4 to 7 p.m.

AUGUST 16 – 19
Summerfest will be held at the South Charleston Mound. Four nights of free live entertainment and dancing in the street!

The Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a meet-up at 8 a.m. at Area 34/Putnam Provisions, 971 State Route 24, Teays Valley.

AUGUST 19
Celebrate Recovery Community night will start at 6 p.m. at the Buffalo Church of the Nazarene.
Designer Purse Bingo hosted by Poca High School Show Choir Boosters will start at 4:30 p.m. at Poca High School. Tickets are $30 at the door.
