TUESDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 29
Community Autism Resources & Education Systems- CARES will be holding a summer meet up from 10 a.m. to noon at Valley Park in Hurricane.

SATURDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER 28
The Putnam County Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon/Arby’s on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

AUGUST 24 – 26
The 2023 West Virignia Cupcake Festival will take place at Valley Park in Hurricane. For more information, go to wvcupcakefestival.com

AUGUST 24
There will be a Home School Science Class at 10 a.m. at the Hurricane City Park’s Sprayground.
The Night Market will be held at Valley Park in Hurricane from 6 to 9 p.m. The theme will be the 1980’s.

AUGUST 25 – 26
There will be a free clothing giveaway at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2440 Route 60, Hurricane. Hours are 3-7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Putnam County Schools Developmental Screenings will be held at the Teays Valley Baptist Church on Teays Valley Road. Please call 304-586-0500 ext. 1133 to schedule an appointment.

AUGUST 26
The 10th Regular Season Tournament hostedby the Kanawha Bass Tournaments will start at the Nitro Boat Launch at 6:15 a.m. and continue to 2 p.m.
There will be a fall garden planting workshop at 10 a.m. at West Sattes Community Center, 284 Lee Avenue, Valentine Cir, Nitro.
1267 Rentals LLC, 17588 Charleston Road, Buffalo, will be holding an open house of their new venue space from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Bancroft Town Picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bancroft Town Park.
The Winfield High School Class of 2013 ten year reunion will start at 6:30 p.m. at Fireside Grille in Teays Valley.
There will be a summer gardening workshop at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library. The topic will be on perennials in the landscape.
The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be showing the movie “Toy Story 4” at 10 a.m.

A Hand Quilting & Crochet Club will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane.
The Hurricane Civic Chorus will be holding a fall open house at 7 p.m. at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church, 2848 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane.

The GWES Music Department Vendor Fair Fundraiser will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eleanor Volunteer Fire Department.
Rock out at Swan Lake Campground, 13928 Charleston Road, Red House, with the Marshall River Band starting at 6 p.m.
TheWinfield High School Class of ‘83 40th Reunion will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at Fireside Grille in Teays Valley. Reservations are $25.

SEPTEMBER 3
The annual St. Albans – Nitro Labor Day Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. The bridge will be closed for the best viewing experience.

SEPTEMBER 6
There will be a Betty and Dot Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. at the Nitro Public Library.

SEPTEMBER 8
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue, will be holding their monthly Second Friday Gospel Sing starting at 7 p.m.
There will be a foam dance party for children ages 7-14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $10 per child.

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2008 20th Street, Nitro, will be holding an Italian feast from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost per meal is $10 and proceeds benefit the Nitro Mission Team Christmas basket initiative.
The City of Nitro Boomtown Days Festival will be held in Nitro.
