September is the season for area parades this year. The first parade was the Putnam County Homecoming Parade on September 10.
Last Friday, both Hurricane and Buffalo High Schools held homecoming parades that drew crowds of spectators.
This Saturday, September 30, Buffalo will be the site of an All Horse Parade. The 10:00 a.m. parade will start and end at the Buffalo Gazebo Park on State Route 62. There will be a public auction at noon. The event will feature concessions, fried pies, carriage rides and more with all proceeds going to Hospice Care.
Also on Saturday, Main Street in Poca will host the Poca Heritage Day Parade at 11:00 a.m. Other Poca Heritage Day events include a cruise-in on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until dusk.
The parade scene shifts to Milton on Sunday, October 1st, with the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival Grand Parade with at 2 p.m. start time. The West Virginia Pumpkin Festival will be October 5-8 at Pumpkin Park in Milton.
