Community Calendar for Week of April 4

APRIL 4
The Town of Eleanor’s event planning committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Homestead Room of the Eleanor town hall.

APRIL 5 – 6
The Blenko Glass Company Festival of Glass will be taking place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the factory in Milton.

APRIL 5
Meet county, state, and national candidates running for local offices in the May primary from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hometown Senior Center, 40 1st Avenue North, Hometown.

APRIL 6 – 13
There will be a Goodwill Mobile Donation Station set up at Chapman Funeral Home in Winfield. Goodwill will weigh the donations and give Winfield Youth Football and Cheer League a portion of the estimated cash value.

APRIL 6
The Huntington Harmony House Renaissance Faire will be held from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Barboursville Park, 721 Central Avenue, Barboursville. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-12.
The Nitro Church of the Nazarene, 1400 Sattes Circle, will be holding a vendor and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hurricane VFW 9097, 3836 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be hosting a 1920’s themed New Beers Eve Roaring Decade party starting at 8 a.m.
Famous 5K – Run for the Rings, a fundraiser for cheerleading, will start at 8 a.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
The clothing closet at the Hurricane Church of Christ (the church on the hill by Hurricane Middle School) will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Broad Room, located behind the Hurricane Walmart, will be holding a comic trade day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Putnam County Republican Women will be holding a meet the candidates ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

APRIL 7
The Nitro High School Show Cats, Tomcats, and Sophisticats Dinner Theater will be held at the school. First setting – doors open at 12:30; dinner at 1p.m. Second seating – doors open at 3:30; dinner at 4 p.m. Tickets are $25 at the door.
The Rowseys will be singing at 10 a.m. at Valley View Free Will Baptist, 2499 Virginia Avenue, Hurricane.
Word of Light Community Church, 2276 US Highway 60, Culloden, will be holding an egg hunt at noon.

APRIL 8
Come watch the partial eclipse from 1:20 to 4 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
Zoology Zone Science Center, located in Valley Park, Hurricane, will be holding a Great Northern Eclipse Celestial Special Event from 1 to 5 p.m. The cost is $15. Register by going to https://form.jotform.com/240908312028147

Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, 20531 Buffalo Road, will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 1 to 6 p.m.

APRIL 11
The Putnam Chamber Network of Women will be hosting Trivia Night starting at 6 p.m. at The 1267 in Buffalo. The cost is $15 to play; bring an appetizer.

The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a meet-up from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at The Court Nutrition and Energy, 200 Morris Ct., Hurricane.
Social Event Space, 2833 Main Street, Hurricane, will be holding a Market Series from 6 to 9 p.m. Local crafts, food, and business vendors. Live music by Holly Sam Eplin.

APRIL 13
The 10th Annual Take A Walk On The Wild Side Wildflower Hike will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Albans City Park.
HoneyBee Hills, 2780 Fisher Ridge Road, Liberty, will be holding a spring open house from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come check out this wedding venue.
The Buffalo High School Music Boosters will be holding a Bingo fundraiser starting at 5 p.m.
