The Nitro History & Wars Museum will be celebrating the life of Carmen Townsend Kostelansky from 6 to 8 p.m.
AEP will be holding an open interview event for customer service positions from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the AEP Center, 1 AEP Way, Hurricane.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane.
The Federated Republican Women of the Valley and the Putnam County Republican Club are hosting a “Meet the Candidates” from 6-9 p.m. at Valley Park, 1 Valley Dr, Hurricane.

APRIL 19 – 20
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2008 20th Street, Nitro, will be hosting a rummage sale on Friday from 4 to p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mountaineer Foodbank will be hosting a mobile farmers market from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Nitro Library. This free produce choice market is open to anyone who lives in Kanawha County.
Bancroft Misson, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, will be holding an evening of praise and thanksgiving starting at 7 p.m.
The Jungle Club Resort and Cafe, 11624 Winfield Road, Unit 4, Winfield, will be holding a clothing swap Friday for maternity clothing and children’s clothing and shoes from noon to 8 p.m.
Charleston Job Corps Center will be holding a recruiting event from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
Impact Ministry Center, 492 Cow Creek Road, will be holding a movie night featuring “The Chosen” from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Putnam County Earth Day Extravaganza will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

There will be a bingo fundraiser for Lee’s Studio of Dance from 4 to 6 p.m. at Valley Cakes and Cafe, 2883A Charleston Road, Poca.

There will be a ribbon cutting for the Nitro Commons, 722 1st Avenue South, Nitro, at noon. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Women’s Club of Nitro will be holding a craft show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2205 2nd Avenue and 23rd Street, Nitro.
Katherine’s Cafe, 4 Bank Street, Nitro, will be holding a hot dog and BBQ fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Cow Creek Hi-Strivers 4-H Club will be holding a tack auction at the Eleanor Fire Department (upstairs). Doors open at 4 p.m.; auction begins at 5 p.m.
The 2024 West Virginia Food Truck Festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the Putnam County Fairgrounds in Eleanor.
