Buffalo Octoberfest — A Continuing Gift to the Community

Rocky Point Farm of Kenna provided wagon rides at the Octoberfest.

The annual Buffalo Octoberfest started 36 years ago as a gift to the community from Richard Howard, owner of the Buffalo Shopping Center. The Shopping Center closed years ago but members of the Howard clan continue to present the annual gift to the community on the third Saturday of October in Buffalo.

Jessica Coulson, Howard’s granddaughter, was very pleased with the turnout on October 19. This year’s event featured close to 120 vendors, the most in the post Covid era. The $15 vendor fee helps toward meeting the cost to freebies that await youngsters in attendance.

Freebies include the petting zoo, inflatables, pony rides, carriage rides, and a $5 voucher to Halloween costumed children for purchases from vendors.

The festival features a wide variety of vendors — handmade crafts, seasonal offerings, antiques, flea market items, carnival-style and home-cooked food.

The Octoberfest was the place to be for both fun seekers and gift shoppers.
