HFD Joins in Hurricane Town Elementary Field Day Activities

Hurricane Fire Department challenged the fifth graders to a tug of war match.

Hurricane Town Elementary held their annual field day on Friday, May 23. This all day event featured seventeen different stations for kindergarten through fifth grade students. Some of the games included a 50 yard dash, three legged race, water balloon toss, water relay games, longest throw competition, jump rope, longest jump, and limbo.

One of the more popular games at the field day was tug of war. The students rooted for each other during the competition, cheering and yelling excitedly. Firefighters from the Hurricane Fire Department challenged the fifth graders to a tug of war match.

At the end of the day, the firefighters unrolled the hose from their truck and turned on the water, letting the students run and play beneath the spray. The children had a blast, although their clothes did get pretty muddy.

This will be the second year that firefighters from the Hurricane Fire Department have been the special guests at Hurricane Town Elementary’s field day.
