PCDA Purchases Warehouse

The PCDA closed on the 84,000 square foot warehouse located at 2301 Virginia Avenue in Culloden on Friday, May 23, and announced that the facility was available for lease before the deed was recorded with the Putnam County Clerk’s office on Tuesday, May 27.

The property is hardly a stone’s throw from the Culloden I-64 Interchange which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2026. The West Virginia Economic Development Authority and Putnam County Bank provided the $3.5 million necessary for the acquisition.

The building was previously utilized as a distribution facility by U.S. Foods. Putnam Development Authority Executive Director Morganne Tenney said the facility comes complete with 12 dock doors and more than enough space for laydown. Tenney said the facility immediately available. “The distribution space is turnkey, somebody could move their goods in tomorrow, its office space is going to be built out according to what the tenant is wanting, but the distribution space is ready to go.” she said.

She said it could start being used again by a new tenant as early as tomorrow.

“The distribution space is turnkey, somebody could move their goods in tomorrow, its office space is going to be built out according to what the tenant is wanting, but the distribution space is ready to go,” Tenney said. The PCDA is receiving interest from distribution industry and site consultants who could potentially lease the warehouse.

She encourages organizations interested in leasing to contact the Putnam County Development Authority directly for more information and a tour of the building.
