Porsches’ Visit Brings The Exotic to Valley Park

A plethora of Porsches rolled into Valley Park last Saturday, August 2, for a special exotic car social held in the field near the pond. While participation in the event was by invitation only, the public was invited to attend Porsches in the Park and admire the luxury cars on display.

Over 50 Porsches and other exotic cars were exhibited at Saturday’s show. When cars are referred to as “exotic,” it means that they are exclusive vehicles with unique aesthetics, striking features, powerful engines, and cutting-edge technology. They often have limited production numbers, contributing to their rarity.

Porsches in the Park was organized by Joel Cost, a dentist from Barboursville. An exotic car aficionado and proud Porsche owner, he is a member of the Ohio Valley Region Porsche Club of America.

While Putnam County is home to many cruise-ins and car shows – and even a few brand-specific events – Porsches in the Park was first exotic car show to be held in this area. Cost wants to hold other events in the future, with the goal to bring together the exotic car community of West Virginia.

“There was a great turnout,” Cost said about Porsches in the Park. “It’s nice to have events like this in West Virginia.”

Cost is looking for participants for future exotic car events. Those interested can email him at wvexoticcargroup@gmail.com
