American Legion Post 187 invites the community to gather for a special Pearl Harbor Day of Remembrance ceremony on Saturday, December 7th at 2:00 PM. The event will take place on the grounds of the Winfield Community center and will honor the 2,403 Americans who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The ceremony is open to the public, and residents of all ages are encouraged to attend.
The program will feature brief remarks from local veterans, laying of the wreath, three volley rifle salute and taps to recognize the bravery, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who stood in defense of our nation. Post 187 hopes this gathering will give the community a quiet moment to reflect on the legacy of that day and remember the enduring strength and unity it sparked across the country.
